Linda has been teaching in Carroll County since the mid 1980's. She holds a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education, Certification as a Teacher Support Specialist, and a Reading Endorsement.
Linda began her career at Mt.Zion Elementary School. She transferred to Whitesburg Elementary School after five years, and has been at WES ever since. She has taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, first grade, second grade, third grade, and has tutored in both fourth and fifth grade.
Linda is married to Bill Whorton, owner of The Whorton Agency, Inc. She has two daughters, Abigail and Emily, both graduates of Central High School. Abigail, a graduate of UGA, is employed by The Whorton Agency, Inc. as the Marketing and Public Relations Specialist. Emily, a graduate of UWG, is employed by the Carroll County Board of Education as a Pre-K teacher at Sharp Creek Elementary School.
Linda has been privileged to work with many fine educators and administrators during the course of her career in the Carroll County School System. She is proud that her daughter, Emily, has chosen the career that has meant so much to her. She is also proud of the support that she has received from her family over the years. Her husband not only supports her personally in her career, but The Whorton Agency, Inc. serves as a business partner to WES. Bill also serves on the School Council at Central High School.
