After graduating from Monroe Area Comprehensive High School in 2002, I attended the University of West Georgia to seek after my teaching degree. While at college, I had the wonderful opportunity of playing soccer and tutoring college students in math.  After graduating from UWG in 2007, I taught 4th grade here at WES while also completing my Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education.  In May of 2008, I received my Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from UWG with a math endorsement.

I started my teaching career here at Whitesburg Elementary in 2007.  I spent my next two years at Sand Hill Elementary teaching EIP and 4th Social Studies.  My fourth year I taught 5th ELA at Glanton-Hindsman Elementary School.  I then decided to transfer to Mt. Zion Elementary to be closer to home and taught second grade for two years.  While at Mt. Zion, I was offered a coaching position at Mt. Zion High School for the girls and boys soccer teams.  My last 4 years have been spent teaching 3rd and 5th grades here at Whitesburg Elementary!  I was awarded teacher of the year in 2015.
